If I do a copy of a sheet that contains a mapping, I want that copy to have the same mapping without me having to reload the editable pdf and redo the mapping of the columns.

We use Document Builder to generate a printable work order based on a fillable PDF. I have found this document mapping breaks when duplicating a sheet, as we would be doing per job. I set up the mapping on the template sheet, but it doesn't copy to the duplicated sheet. This is a major set back for what I am trying to set up.
@Joe Goetschel Wow, 900 projects, that's a lot! By using the API, you can create a structure where the documents are created in a database and then returned to the specific project, all within Smartsheet API. :)
@Guilherme Jaquer Your not wrong! This was before I was a Smartsheet Partner.
I think that would have been a heavy lift for this specific use case.
Think 900+ open projects at any given time and then multiply it by an Avg of 30-60 needs to Generate a document and then add 6 flavors of the document.
At the end of the day, that's A LOT of documents!
If Doc Builder could just stay with the sheet once mapped (Save as new) then this would be a HUGE!!

Apparently this has been on Smartsheet's "roadmap" since 2022 (maybe prior, but cannot confirm!).. based on most recent comments this still hasn't been implemented :(

Document Generation is lost when saving a workspace as new and needs to be re-uploaded and mapped.
Yes please! We have so many projects and not always is the PMO department a part of them. Plus it's too much manual work for out PM's to be adding the mapping again once the project is provisioned in control center.
I am running into the same issues with wasting time re-creating mappings for our projects enterprise-wide. Is there an updated timeline as to when we can expect the functionality?

Yes! Please bring this. I ran into this issue not to long ago and had to start all over and that was recreating a lot from scratch including the PDF.

Claude Connector for resource management would be incredibly impactful! In my org, we struggle with consistent time tracking and do a lot of manual data analysis based on resource management exports.
