I like the option for Request workflows since that is like having a mini-form for sheet updates. It would be great if there was also even better capability for us to build forms for users to do updates to sheet data based on a Primary value entered. Once they enter the Primary value, have the form retrieve the existing information we want displayed on the form, and we designate which fields they are able to update.
Good Idea
This would be extremely useful!
This only partially works as a work-around. The Request automation does not allow us to arrange the update fields the way we want—it only shows them in the order of the columns in the sheet. Also, for some of the updates, we want the user to be able to view the fields, but not update certain ones. With Request Automations, we do not have that option.
Would love the option to be able to have a form update an existing row. Our use case is for a vendor contract list. We have a new contract submission form, a termination form and an amendment form. Would love for the term and amendment forms to be able to update some of the data elements in an existing row (rather than creating new rows).
Agreed completely with this thread. Surprised this isn't standard functionality to open a record in form view for editing. I know you can created dynamic views but more of work around for lack of this functionality.
