NEW! Dashboard chart quality-of-life enhancements
Hi Community!
We’ve released quality-of-life enhancements for charts, focused on improving their visual quality and readability. Now, chart axes extend just enough to accommodate values over 100%, eliminating unnecessary white space. Additionally, data labels in stacked bar and column charts will scale to fit neatly within their segments or be hidden if they don’t fit, ensuring that all charts remain clear and visually appealing.
Note:
- If a segment is too small to display the label, then the label for that segment won't be shown.
- The data label change applies only to stacked bar and column charts; it doesn't affect regular bar and column charts.
- If the Scale to data values setting is turned ON, then the cap to 100% behavior does not apply.
- Axis capping at 100% is only applicable to bar and column charts. They do not apply to stacked charts. The reason for this is that stacked segments don't always add to 100% in all use cases.

Thank you for these updates as well! I wonder if you have looked into the situation where the label gets cut off
-
Really appreciate these QOL updates! The data labels overlapping and some of the axis values overextending were sometimes frustrating pain points when building out widgets.
-
I attempted to apply this change on one of my charts but it is still extending well past 100%. Can you share a screenshot of the widget settings? (Chart Type = Stacked Column; Vertical Axis - Scale to Data Values = Off)
-
@jkimchi These updates are automatically applied, no need to take any action. If this issue continues to persist, please send me a direct message with a screenshot so we can take a look.

@Jason DelValle First, I love the data labels being centered now. SOO much better! However, my stacked column charts also extend well past 100%. I am using vertical axis - scale to data values = off. I thought it had something to do with the chart size, so I attempted resizing it. However, the axis values keep the increase by 20%. For example, some charts change to 10%, 5% increments, but this doesn't adjust. Ideally, the chart would end slightly above 100%.
-
@Jason DelValle I have the same experience as @Stacy L. Even with my chart set up as you explain, "scale to data values" is off, my chart still goes past 100%. I do agree having the value labels centered is a big improvement!

Hi Stacy! The axis capping at 100% is only applicable to bar and column charts, they don't apply to stacked charts. The reason is that stacked segments don't always add to 100% in all use cases. Customizable increments are on the roadmap.

Thanks @Andrea Zenner, glad you find the centering helpful. Axis capping at 100% is not applicable for stacked charts, it applies only to bar and column charts.

Thank you, @Will Duplex! Glad you are finding it helpful.
