Can i move child rows to another sheet and copy the parent row across too?

At the end of each quarter, i'd like to copy parent rows and move the previous 3 months (from each parent row) to an archive sheet. Is this possible?

I'd then like to have an automation after this that adds 3 new rows under each parent row once a new quarter begins.

For example, these months are just 2024 months. Once we hit Q1 2025, I'd like 2024 Q1 rows to move to an archive sheet (along with the parent row being copied), and for 2025 Q1 rows to be added below 2024 Q4 rows. Is this possible?

Child rows always follow the parent row when a move or copy rows automation is executed.

Rarely have I seen a viable move-copy rows workflow with hierarchies. Initially, it seems effective but quickly turns into a mess.

I would recommend keeping the data on a single sheet and adding an automation to check a box for each of the rows you have specified.

If you are archiving to remove from metrics on a dashboard, this will give you the ability to filter the rows from a report or isolate them from a formula without overcomplicating the sheet.

There currently isn't an automation or form that can create hierarchy, or would know under what parent to insert the new rows - please feel free to add your vote to this related Product Idea: Indent child records based on formula or automation

What I would suggest here is to list out the next few years, all in the same sheet, using a Date column to identify the first of each month. This will then allow you to set a filter on the sheet so you only see the relevant rows, like so:

While you could use a Move Row workflow if you want to get rid of child rows past a certain date, I agree with @Ward.Hively and would suggest keeping it all in the same sheet.
