I am trying to Send text messages based on Phone Numbers in my Rows

My Smart sheet data are rows of members that take classes with me. I teach many different classes.

I was some sort of way to Send text messages to certain member. Is there some sort of software that will let me do that. I looked at Zapier and other sites but those are mostly for new rows added or changed. I want to use this send small text updated to the members in certain class.

    Hi,

I hope you're well and safe!

Yes, and the solutions I use in my client solutions combine Zapier and Twilio.

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

To do a twilio integration you will need to register for a twilio account and ensure you fill out all your FCC filings to be approved for sms gateway number (this is the number that the texts will come from). You will also need to ensure you setup your stop / unsubscribe workflows within twilio to be compliant.

From there you just use the SMAR api to get the data ie phone number you want to send to, maybe some other fields like name to create the message, and then post that to the twilio API to send the text.

I should note there's like a zillion other text sms saas apps that are more costly than twilio but WAY more user friendly from a UI / usage standpoint (most will not require the FCC filing as they are already handled by the service provider).

Depending on what functionality, logging, reporting, you want twilio may or may not be your best option (for example if you want two way conversation in twilio it is a MUCH more complicated setup).
