Hi @DQ Aaron, @BorisM, @Michele Messina and @Ermanno,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've determined that this error being presented when connecting Smartsheet to Power BI is caused by a bug and our Product team is working on a resolution. We are not able to provide a time-frame on how long the resolution could take but we are doing our best in order to have this fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Georgie

We are having the same issue not being able to successfully refresh our Power BI datasets/flows for the third day now with abosutely no progress. It has brought our team to a halt. Same error posted on this thread. Why does the status page show everything is fine?
Is there any update to this or communication that will go out to customers? -
"this error being presented when connecting Smartsheet to Power BI"
That's not really descriptive. I wll revisit this thread and post a description of the problem when I have a bit more time.
In terms of collecting information, I am using the Legacy connector and it's broken - Internal Server Error. I tried to rebuild the connections using the Beta connector and can't get past the Region window. I select the region and then I click OK and then I get an error "Unable to connect" with Details: "Failed after multiple retry attempts."

Seeing this error today (3/24) for reports in the US region with both the Legacy and Beta connectors. Is there an ETA for a fix?

I have a number of Power BI reports that use Smartsheet data. I've scheduled nightly refreshes for these reports in the Power BI service and that has worked perfectly for a number of months. However, these refreshes started failing last Thursday - March 20, 2025. The error message is from Power BI service is:
Data source error: DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://api.smartsheet.com/2.0/home' (500): Internal Server Error. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ErrorCode = 10117. DataSourceKind = Smartsheet. DataSourcePath = Smartsheet. Url = https://api.smartsheet.com/2.0/home. . The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. …and the message in Power BI Desktop is:
Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://api.smartsheet.com/2.0/home' (500): Internal Server Error
Anyone encountering this issue or know of a resolution?

Are there any updates on this? This is causing significant reporting issues.
-
Same here. The issue is ongoing for almost 24 h now. I have dropped a support ticket but no feedback yet
-
The same is happening with the reports that I have. Waiting for Smartsheet's feedback.
-
I'm not sure why this issue is not reflected in the status site
? -
Still experiencing this issue for ~a week. Reports are falling behind and causing disturbance in workflow. Is there any update on this?
-
Very frustrating it isn't being tracked there despite there being a few sections it could fall into "Connectors" or "Third Party Integrations".
I also have a ticket in with support on this issue which they have responded with "Upon reviewing, we are able to find similar cases with other users and this issue will be raised to our Engineering team to further investigate. There is no specific time frame for a resolution but rest assured that we will provide an update regarding the issue."
I may start just rewriting my Power BI Queries to use the API GET Sheet endpoint instead of the connector which seems to work just fine.
-
Agreed. It would fit perfectly into e.g.: "Developers and API > REST API"
At least you got a response, thank you for sharing. For now I have seen that switch from "unassigned" to "in progress" but no further detail. API has a lot of impact downstream, so I hope they are working hard on it. The advantage of this issues making to "Status" is that you can get suscribed to updates, instead of having to be refreshing the ticket.
