Smartsheet Report

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with a Smartsheet report. In one report, I grouped by project name and it displays correctly with collapsible sections. However, in a new report set up the same way, the project name disappears when grouped. Any advice would be appreciated. See screenshot belows

I'm trying to group the project name

Once I select ok, it doesn't display the project name

I want something to look like this and I had bult another report for another sheet with the same set up. I don't get it why it's not working.

Hi @Melody Yang,

Try unhiding the primary column, your grouping should then appear. The primary column values would only show when the groupings are expanded.

If you need your data to be separate from your primary column you could create a summary sheet and calculate the number of samples with cross sheet formulas, but that may be a lot of work if you have many projects and sheet for each one of them.

Hi @Melody Yang,

Is Project Name your Primary column? If not, the grouped name may be hidden if your primary column is hidden as the grouping is usually to the far left.

no project name is not the primary column. if I want the report to display project name and total samples, how would I do that?
