Pie Charts in Sights
Does anyone know if you can put a pie chart into a sight? If so how?

After asking the smartsheet labs team, you currently can't... Though, you can add a picture of that chart (it will not update but it will be there) or simply add a link to your chart.

Thats what I did. I downloaded a copy of the chart and then inserted it in ot a cell as an image and then added the picture as Configure Metric Widget. I know it won't update but for what I using it for it doesn't need to update.

I also did the same but just used Excel to create the pie chart and just saved the chart as an image and used the Image Widget in SS to do the same.

You can use "https://smartsheetlabs.com/smartsheetcharts" and share Pie Charts via URL/Web page embedded code. But could not find any option to display it in a Sight (You use "Shortcut metric" to link the URL though).

I suspect that some sort of active chart is coming, but that is only a guess.
In the mean time, I use PowerBI for an active view. Even better than some other alternative, PowerBI can link to a Report instead of Sheet, so the information derived from the data is even better.

Yes, We are in the process of adding a Chart widget, so that you can select a data range and build a Chart. Timing is in the first half of 2018. In the mean time the options mentioned above are alternative solutions. We will keep you posted when we are closer to launch. Thanks for your feedback.
