Completed Tasks Past Due Date
I am trying to make a column with stars that is starred when a date is filled into the completion date column past the due date.
The only problem with this is that we have a recurring maintenance sheet, and there is a formula for the Due Date column that automatically populates it based on the last completion date. So whenever a date is inputted into the Date Completed column, the Due Date Column is automatically changed based on how frequently it is to occur.
I have no idea how to work around this and keep this a recurring maintenance sheet with all of its automation intact.

Sorry, the way it reads, you would first need to disconnect the upstream influence of Completion date onto Due date.
What is the logics/constraints setting up the Due dates?
(alt. Why are the Completion dates interfering?, what is the logic there?)
Maybe you need to create a 3rd column and dissociate INITIAL Due Date, based on Starting date. Due date must not vary ; and ADJUSTED Due Date in another column, which can be impacted by Completion date?

Here is a screenshot of the sheet. The Red Flags are turned on when the task is past due.

This is meant to be a recurring maintenance sheet. I was wondering if there was maybe a formula of some kind, or something else, that could change the properties of a column just once, at the moment the Completed Date is changed past the due date.
I have a red flag column that turns red when the task is past due. Maybe if there is a way to mark the star when the Completed Date is changed and the flag is on?

Smartsheet does not have a toggle feature in their formulas.
