Feature Request: Customizable Daily Notifications by Time

Can we allow users to set their Daily Notifications etc. sent out at a desired time? This feature is useful while working with teams internationally and in different time zones.

Currently, our teams in Hong Kong receive the daily notification email at 7 p.m. rather than their start of day.

    +1 vote for this.

It'd also be nice if you could base the update time on the workspace or sheet.  I have projects all over the globe, and it would be nice to have them updated just before their work day starts.

The problem that will occur is "when"?

The servers are currently (I believe) in Washington state USA, west coast.

The email goes out between midnight and 5am there (I think).

The sheet does not know who is accessing it, from where, or what time they start work or want the notification to occur (I hope)

There isn't current an internal polling system (if no one is watching, there is nothing to see) in Smartsheet - so trying a work-around using the Notifications set to "immediately" won't work (I tried).

There are third party apps like Zapier and Azuqua that sit in the dark and wait for something to happen. I haven't tried to see if that something could just be time, but I imagine that it does.

This is a request we have heard before and I will add your votes for it!

Craig, our servers are located in Chicago and Virginia. Reminder emails are sent between 12-5am in your locale timezone (based on what you have selected in your Personal Settings). This means two people working in the same sheet could receive emails at a different time if they are in a different timezone.

    Travis,

Thanks. New information is always welcome.

I thought I had tested that (traveling back and forth to Europe) and it was consistent regardless of the settings. Got a trip coming up will test it again.

Or I suppose I could just change the settings and see what happens.

While we're at it, why not also create a manual push of the notifications?   Currently you can set it to have a daily (@ SS time), and our discussion above would give us the ability to set that daily time.  One step further, and give us the ability to do an update 'on demand'.

I have teams that work in shifts (3 shifts per day), and projects in multiple timezones.  If the shift lead were able to send a manual notification of all of the changes within say the past 9hrs, then it would work as  a 'shift report' from that work period for all the team members.

    Tarun,

    I have found a workaround!!!

I've just created two new dummy workspace owners from my personal accounts.  Now I have three licensed users:  one for USA, one for Europe, and one for Asia.  Making them the owners of these workspaces and sheets means that I still maintain control of the sheets personally, but that now the end users should receive their notifications and such based upon something much closer to their time zone.

    HOORAY!!!
