I want to make a dashboard widget for my project that shows a report containing all individuals that were assigned a task in said project. I know that the "assigned to" column can be pulled in a report, however it shows multiple instances of each person because each person does multiple tasks in each project. Is there anyway I can show the individuals in a project only once so that it can be put in a dashboard to quickly portray who is on the project team?

I don't believe there is an easy way to achieve that.  Someone might know of a formula based approach to pull out the unique values so you only get each name displayed once?   How about using a graph widget to display a chart of individuals with tasks against them, that way the graph will do the job of only showing each resource name once?

    Hi,

I can think of a few different ways to set it up. I need some more information to be able to test it out. Which roles and how many different people?

Do you have some screenshots on how it looks today?

    I hope this helps you!

Thanks for the input Andrée! I think a good way to show the individual team members once would be to show the resource view that is built into the smartsheet. Is there any way to put a widget of the resource view in a dashboard? If there is no way to do this, I can provide some screenshots of my sheet so that we can try and find a solution.

Hi Mick, I tried to make a chart widget (I am not sure if it is the same as a graph but is the closest widget to it) however it only allows numerical data to be used.

    Your welcome!

To my knowledge, there isn't a way to show the resource view in a Dashboard. Please upload some screenshots, and I'll see what we can do.

This is not the entire sheet as it would require multiple screenshots, however it does show that there are multiple tasks that have various individuals assigned to each task. My goal would be to show each individual once to quickly show project managers who would be working on a project.

If It's enough to see if the different people are involved in the project, I would create another sheet or put the information on the top of the project sheet. There you would see which people are part of the project and link that information to the dashboard. Just let me know if you need some more information.

Below you have the formula to count if there is assigned to for the different people. People 1, People 2 would have the exact name of the different people in the company and only the people that are present in the project will be counted. Would that work for you?

    =COUNTIF([Assigned To]:[Assigned To]; People1)

I agree with Andree,  the project team will probably involve more than just the people allocated to task rows so my preference is to have either a separate sheet for listing the project team names or have their names at the top of the sheet.

Hi, if you set some formulas up to count the names of the individuals assigned to tasks then you can set a Chart Data range against that.  If you get stuck drop me a line at mick.jordan@projectplanservices.co.uk and I'll share you an example.
