Why the dropdown menu is not searching for the first characther anymore?

Question

Since a few days ago, the smartsheet started working differently.

I used to write in a cell with dropdown menu the number "5" for example, and would show me the option "5 - built" straight away as first option.

Now if I do the same, the first option that appears is "0.5 - waiting", this is really annoying because after years using this method, I already start making mistakes due the habit of pressing one character and enter.

Is it possible to revert to the old way?

THis is really annoying, I'me seeing a lot of mistakes on my team due this change.

People are too used with the old style, I hope some developers can have a look and implement a fix on this

I contacted support about this as well and they said "a fix was released [May 13] for search behavior in Dropdown and Contact list columns in Grid view. Specifically, it was actually unexpected that the system would only suggest options that begin with the typed text. Rather, these suggestions are designed to show all options that contain the text string, as is now happening"

After that they suggested I submit a feature request here and closed the support ticket.

I found this extremely odd considering the way it was searching before was how it was searching for as long as I have been using Smartsheet. Searching within words or within a sequence of characters seems pretty inefficient considering most people aren't going to start typing the middle of a word.
