Hi all,
Can I view unshared sheets with the sys admin right?
Can I set rules for sheets? Like auto archive sheets which not using for a certain month.
Thanks,
Jonathan,
Any user, regardless of privileges, can not view any objects (Sheets, Reports, Dashboards, etc...) not shared to them using the GUI.
Any user can access more information and perform more actions via the API (and thus some third party applications). What they can do is still limited, but SysAdmin's have a few special functions using the API that might be of use to them and they could get access to sheets not shared to them via the GUI.
Automation Rules (including Notifications and such) can be deleted, updated, but not created via the API. Some other things too.
There is no automation rule for auto archiving from the GUI. This could be done programmatically in the API, depending on what you are looking for exactly. My GUI based archiving is done using Templates, but Templates can not currently be created using the API, so there are limitations there too.
I hope this helps.
Craig
Anyway we can make this view only for security purposes? We would like to prevent users from sending responses to other users by accident.
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
