Hi there,
Another option would be to use it as a Widget on a Dashboard, where it essentially does the same thing as publishing (in that you do not need to share the underlying sheets) but you do not need to publish the item. Here's some information on that.

Actually I would use the report sheet as "interface" for tasks updates directly into data source sheet. But I intended to make sure each users see only their tasks. I can do that using a report feature, but it wont work if I must share the data source sheet (they will have full access thru it)

It is absolutely necessary to share report but keep the source data (in the sheet) secured and hiden. That should be the main goal of sharing reports.

Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. When i try to send or print the timeline view instead of showing the progression bars like they do on the screen it only send the data entered and not a graph type view to print. Is there a way to do this. I am using a mac platform if that helps.
