Hi,
I have a strange scenario where we have established a sheet which will be accessed by a wide variety of stakeholders. We have one group who need to access the majority of information, but we want to be able to lock that group out from particular rows within the sheet.
Is this possible?
thanks.
Hi Cath,
There is additional functionality within the Dynamic View add-on.

It takes permissions to a granular level and may be of interest to you.

Outside of the dynamic view, the only workaround would be to give them a link to a published report. It would be view only access, but it would restrict them from being able to see data on other rows.
A workaround I sometimes use for client solutions is to break the sheet up by who needs access to it or who needs to work on that specific part of the sheet. To see everything in one view, we would then use a report.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic week!

This is a great idea. I have never thought to use a report like this.
Thanks!
I like to publish the reports with share functionality to a dashboard when doing this. It makes it professional, and allows you to report individual KPI's to your target audience at the same time.
Hi Andrée,
Could you explain a little more in detail how do you manage to go about breaking up the sheet according to who should have access to it.
Additionally, is the functionality to control row level access available in Dynamic View?
Anyway we can make this view only for security purposes? We would like to prevent users from sending responses to other users by accident.
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
