smartsheet has a lot of features, and its not backed up with speed. we need speed, it's all smartsheet is about, stop telling us to minimize our sheets or use less conditional formulas, please start working on the speed for every features.
I would agree with what @George Lie says here. An app that basically works on the database model, must be capable of handling hundreds of thousands of rows of data.
Smartsheet is an extremely well-designed (or almost an indispensable) solution, but perhaps the only aspect that makes it look somewhat weak, is the time it takes to open sheets containing a few thousand rows.
All I can say is that the Smartsheet development team should find out the bottlenecks, and try to shift the job of processing / loading from local machines to the servers.
My network bandwidth is 150+ Mbps, yet, a sheet with some 5000+ rows takes several, several seconds!
One can expect to have just a few hundred rows in a sheet if it's been built to manage a project. But if a sheet is part of a database app, then storing more and more rows of data everyday (and no trading with speed!) is one of its very basic prerequisites!
I'd really love to witness the day when we'll overcome this slow loading issue that I face almost every single day.
(PS: there are about 150+ users who add at least one or two rows of data everyday to my app; and although I keep splitting the data across several sheets, I can't continue this split practice for ever).
100% THIS!
Our work slows so much when it takes 5 minutes to save or we can't move a row. Don't tell me to reduce the complexity or shrink my sheet. Fix the underlying issue on the back end. Do they need more servers? Do that! I use Starlink and have super fast speeds. I shouldn't have an issue simply saving a sheet or moving a row.
Two years after this initial post- this is still an issue. It is not the internet connection (all members of our international team using this program experience the lag at different time), we have a total of 4 workspaces with no more than 10 sheets with fewer than 200 rows in each, and standard project management formulas (project health, parent task status based on children tasks). My team represents a basic program and our load times to even get to the homepage of our environment can be 3+ minutes (which as we know, is about 80 years in UX time). Hopefully the acquisition by Blackstone will provide additional funding to solve this issue as it's just a unfortunate issue that significantly undermines the product.
Hi All
We are experiencing extremely slow speeds on Smartsheet the last 2-3 weeks in South Africa. I have had our IT systems investigate, and the network speed issues sits on Smartsheet side.
Can this please be investigated. We are a big team working on a slow system in a critical time which is not productive. Please assist
I know this is an old thread, but are we still seeing very slow performance in sheets?
Anyway we can make this view only for security purposes? We would like to prevent users from sending responses to other users by accident.
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with my current Smartsheet experience. I have paid for a Pro subscription, I am the owner and administrator of my account and sheets, and I have confirmed I am logged into the correct account. Despite this, Smartsheet is not recognizing my Pro subscription, and I am unable to…
