Meet Aravind Gnanapandithan, our May Member Spotlight! 🎉
Please put your hands together for this month’s Community Member Spotlight @AravindGP! So how did it all begin? What brought this Sydney-based Community Champion to Smartsheet? Scroll down to hear his story.
Aravind is a Delivery Manager - Smartsheet at Atturra, a Smartsheet partner. While working at a previous company, a few of his clients recommended that they look into the partner program. As he tells it, from the moment he followed their advice and explored the platform, he was hooked!
“Despite not having a technical background—and after nearly a decade of selling custom software solutions in Singapore—Smartsheet was a game-changer. For the first time, I could build solutions for clients without relying on a developer. It was both empowering and exciting. Smartsheet struck the perfect balance: Intuitive to use yet incredibly powerful.”
Over the past six years, Aravind has worked with Smartsheet both as an end user and as an implementation specialist across a wide range of use cases—and has enjoyed every step. Currently, his favorite product feature is formulas because of the power they have in transforming data into actionable insights - especially when feeding into dashboards.
“I’ve worked with formulas so extensively over the years that my team started calling me ‘The Formulator,’” he says. “It’s become one of the areas I’m most confident in. I’ve found the more skilled you become with something, the more rewarding and fun it gets.”
As Community Champion, Aravind says the Community has taught him just how deep and versatile the platform really is. He describes Smartsheet as an ocean - one where he’s only scratched the surface.
“The Community has become my go-to space whenever I have downtime at work. I often browse the Unanswered section and try to help others by recreating their scenarios and finding solutions. This habit has exposed me to use cases I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise, and it's pushed me to think creatively and explore new ways to solve problems.”
In the future, Aravind hopes to contribute to the Community platform and the community at large more strategically. He was recently invited to join the Smartsheet Partner Product Advisory Council, and is excited about the opportunity to help shape the product roadmap. “I’m passionate about making the platform even more accessible and impactful for users, and I hope to use this role to advocate for features and improvements that drive broader adoption and deliver real value across different industries,” he says.
When he’s not being The Formulator, there are three major things he loves to do:
- Driving and taking long road trips - in just a few years, he’s driven through five of the seven states in Australia
- Mobile gaming
- Spending time with his daughter, whether it’s reading her stories or joining in on one of her many imaginative games
Thank you Aravind for all that you do!
👉🏻 Do you know someone in the Community who should be next month's Member Spotlight? Nominate them here (NOTE: Any Community member can nominate someone else in the Community).

Re: Dynamic View $ Formatting
Hi @Kim Stephens,
Having tested this again today, it looks like the issue has been resolved - is this working for you now?
Thanks,

Re: Report showing activity per month grouped by resource
I think I actually just figured it out, at least for us. I set up a filter to show rows that match all conditions, then set the Start Date to "is less than or equal to" the last date of the month I want and set the End Date to "is greater than or equal to" the first date of the month I want. For example, if I want all rows with activity in May, my filter is set with Start Date is less than or equal to 5/31/25 and End Date is greater than or equal to 5/1/25. It gave me all the rows with activity in May. I tested it a few times for a few different months and it appears to work. Hope it works for you, too.
Re: Automation triggered when rows are changed is happening on initial input
@anil ayhan thanks for confirming. I will open a support ticket and let you know if it is resolved.
Re: SUM from another sheet based on the week
I created data to try and help you dial in your formula. I called one sheet "Source Data" and a second set Summary Sheet. The formula lives on the summary sheet in the # of findings column.
You will note that I have a "Week Ending" column. This was used while constructing the formula to make sure I was capturing the right data in testing. It is not used in the final formula.
Something like this:
=SUMIFS({Source Data | Findings}, {Source Data | Date}, {Source Data | Date} >= [Week Start]@row, {Source Data | Date}, {Source Data | Date} <= ([Week Start]@row + 6))
Best,
Hudson
Re: Webhook delay with attachments (1-2hours!)
Hey @Craig Watkinson
No problem! I would send them the following:
- URL of an example sheet you've seen this happen on
- If it happens on multiple sheets, identify this
- If it happens on a copy of the same sheet, identify this
- Timestamp of when the attachment was added
- How the attachment was added (e.g. Form, Update Request, Manual, API)
- Screen capture of the Activity Log with the attachment added shown
- Timestamp of when the Webhook notification received for that attachment
- Screen captures if possible
This should help point them in the right direction! They may ask for more information but it's a good start.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Re: Link % completion and Status fields
I made mine work with this statement
=IF(AND([% Complete]1 > 0, [% Complete]1 < 1), "In Progress", IF([% Complete]1 = 1, "Complete", "Not Started"))
Re: Activacion de TRIAL Resource Mangement
Gracias por responder mi consulta.
Entonces comprare una licencia temporal por un mes, hasta que mi gerencia me apruebe presupuesto.
Saludos, nuevamente muchas gracias.
