Community Champions are members who demonstrate product expertise and generosity in sharing best practices and support with others on the platform. Another way to put it? They are super knowledgeable about Smartsheet and enjoy helping other Community members grow in their own knowledge.
They join 50+ other Champions and are given opportunities for advocacy and to provide feedback to our team. If you weren't included in this year's annual class, don't worry! We keep the classes small, but will be doing our next round starting in Fall 2025.
Want to know more about the Community Champions program and how you can be a part of it? Learn more here.
As a bonus, I wanted to show off new Champion @Protonsponge and the art he made using conditional formatting! Called "There is Nothing 16-Bit About These Amazing Champions," this is recreated from a photo taken at ENGAGE Seattle 2024 last year. So cool right? 👏🏻
Congrats Champions! Thank you for everything and let's tackle 2025!

Re: Please enable us to select multiple contacts when sharing (was avialable a year or so ago)
@Genevieve P. The following is correct. Thank you for keeping this open:
This request is to see a checkbox so you can search "Gene" once, see all possible matches, and click on 3 checkboxes to add them all into the search bar without needing to type in the keyword each time.
And thank you for the tip on stopping email populating!

Re: Smartsheet Bridge: Iterate over an array using JavaScript - Column names from a sheet
Thank you for providing your solution with such detailed steps! I've moved this over to the Best Practice topic to make it easier to find. I will also pass this along to the Help Center team for their review.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Re: Formulas for Calculating Time
@Addison Spencer Theoretically it can be done without a bunch of helper columns, but troubleshooting and building and maintaining can be rather cumbersome without them. I generally hid the helper columns so they are not visible/creating a "busy" screen.
Having said that, I would recommend at the very least a helper column for each day of the week. From there I would have a handful of questions.
Will the times ALWAYS start in the am?
Would "Leave" be considered 0?
Are there breaks that need to be factored in?
Will the start time always be an even hour with no minutes?

Re: How to create a Smartsheet to replace a complex Excel spreadsheet? (Weekly Tracking)
I would suggest a form where the managers sill in each of the different fields along with the date needed. That way you have all submissions on a single sheet and metrics can be pulled from fewer columns.

Re: Introduce yourself & get to know your peers!
Hi! My name's Lynne and I work as a facilitator in L&D. I was introduced to Smartsheet last year and don't know how I lived without it!
I live in the UK with my little girl and crazy Labrador, and I enjoy being outdoors and kickboxing :)

Re: Column ID visible in Column Settings
@Samuel Mueller @Frank Geraci Those are some cool tricks that I didn't know about! I came across this post when I was doing some research for my video on alternative ways to get Smartsheet Column ID's.
You're methods are good for those that don't want to deal with the API or use any additional tools.
Here's my list of 3 ways.

Re: Upcoming change- no edit rights for free users in 2025?
You're more than welcome!
Yes, depending on your process, you could use update requests or add Dynamic View to your plan (if you don't already have it). I recommend this method to my clients because it's easy and flexible.
Also, before the end of this week, there's a fantastic opportunity to negotiate fantastic deals.
I'm now working with and negotiating magical deals 🧙 for many of my clients.

Re: Upcoming change- no edit rights for free users in 2025?
Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
Yes, it's correct!
In essence, so will anyone internally who needs to edit a sheet and similar will need a license.
Dynamic View, WorkApps, Update Requests, Approval Requests, and submitting forms do not require a license.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!
