Re: How do you avoid Power BI Semantic Model Error when column headers are modified (add/remove/edit)
Hey! Thanks for the recommendations.
There are other people responsible for the sheets and I cannot control them whether they need to edit stuff. Im just glad I get notifications for errors.
I've been checking BI forums for issues similar to this, but I thought of asking it here being the semantic model source if Smartsheet.
Im still open to hear other Smartsheet users workaround other than the normal process.
Re: July Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
Love this question! Being more intentional about goals is something I'm trying to get better at.
I love to read and don't carve out as much time to it as I would like. I'm not much of a fiction reader these days although will pick up a good Tom Clancy/spy thriller now and again. I have three books that have been hanging around my "read it later" list that I intend to finish this year:
- The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek: A leadership book that challenges the traditional, win-at-all-costs approach to leadership and business, which are infinite games where the goal is not to win but to keep playing.
- Rationality by Steven Pinker: This book attempts to answer the question, "Why do seemingly intelligent people believe irrational things?" and argues that people are capable of extraordinary rational thought.
- Smart Brevity by Roy Schwartz, Mike Allen, Jim VandeHei: A guide for clear, compelling communication in a distracted world. The book distills a writing philosophy of respecting your audience’s time, capturing attention quickly, and communicating with impact.

I'm actually really surprised I didn't put this in my January answer: My main goal this year was to finished my MBA program - I can successfully say that I've finished and graduated as of June 27th!!!

July Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
Hello Community,
Last month, we asked you to share your favorite communities, and your responses really touched us. While many of you highlighted the Smartsheet Community, (thank you!) you also shared other wonderful communities where you're building meaningful relationships, as well as supporting each other and the causes you care about. I genuinely enjoyed learning about all these amazing communities!
For July, we have a special question that many of you requested. 👀 This is also a new opportunity to earn a badge and connect with your peers.
What is a personal goal you've set for yourself this year, and how is it going?
Back in January, some of you asked me to check in on your goals later in the year, and I didn't forget! This is the perfect chance to pause and reflect on your progress, so share away and cheer each other on! ⭐️
Share your response in the comments below. ⬇️
About Question of the Month:
We kick off each month with a new question. These monthly ice breakers are just one way to help you get to know your Smartsheet peers and rack up some badges and points in the process.
Everyone who participates by answering the question prior to the end of the month will automatically receive a unique participant badge once the question closes at the end of the month.
In addition to the participant badge, the top three answers based on Community member votes will receive the Top Answer badge. To vote on an answer click on the upvote icon associated with an answer in the comments below. Multiple votes allowed and encouraged!

Re: July Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
Rebeca,
GREAT QUESTION! Thank you for remembering what we set out to do in January, and bringing it around full circle. Also, It was so nice to finally be in a real meeting with you last week for the Over Achievers! So much fun!
Well, my goal this year is to acquire my PMP Certification and join my local chapter in California! So far, I have finished my 35 hour class, and have been studying for 2 months. I am scheduled to take my exam on July 26th 2025. In order to take the exam you have to apply for the exam, and be accepted. I just received my acceptance letter and need to pay for it now. :)
I am hoping by this time next month, I am certified!

Re: Smartsheet AI
Great to see the growing interest in Smartsheet AI! One of the most helpful ways I've seen it used is to streamline formula creation—though it definitely works best when the request is very specific and the fields are already defined. There's a bit of a learning curve with how prompts need to be structured, but once you get used to it, it can save a lot of time.
Beyond formulas, some teams have used AI to help summarize project updates or even assist with cleaning up messy data sets.
