Unread Filter for Conversations in New Views Now Available!
April, 10, 2025
Our new unread comments filter in New Views will be a powerful tool that significantly enhances collaboration and productivity for our users. By visually highlighting comments that have not yet been seen by the user, we can instantly direct attention to the most recent updates and discussions within a sheet. This eliminates the need to manually scan through comment threads to find new information, saving valuable time and effort.
The unread comments filter will also ensure that important feedback and questions do not go unnoticed. By prioritizing these unread comments, users can stay on top of project developments, quickly address any concerns, and maintain efficient communication with their team members. Continuing our efforts to enhance project outcomes and streamline collaboration within Smartsheet by creating a more productive and responsive work environment.

Re: Automations: include attachments
As requested many times above I also vote for the functionality to send an alert (message only) to someone with or without a Smartsheet account and within or outside my organization, and include an attachment in that alert.
When creating the automation, we should have the choice of which attachment(s) to include in the alert.
Like many other users I assumed this was standard functionality within Smartsheet Automations, and now am unable to provide our internal staff and external customers with the automated delivery of information as planned.
High priority needs to be given by Smartsheet to provide this core functionality, please.
How do I add comments in automated email alerts?
Hi all,
I've been working with my sheet on sending automated emails to contacts within the sheet and can add specific parameters for what is in a cell. However, I can't figure out how I can display the comments in the email without having a link to the form. The reason I don't want a link to the form is because these emails are being sent externally.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Re: April Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
Immediately above my 3 monitors (nod to @Protonsponge) are the two images above.
On the right, there’s a canvas print of a single rose from the first bouquet my husband gave me when we were dating. More than just a memory; it’s a symbol of the love that bloomed so unexpectedly, so beautifully between us. Beside it is a scratchboard drawing of that same rose, made by my cousin as a gift for our 8th anniversary. Each stroke on that artwork echoes the passage of time, and the love that’s grown deeper with each new memory.
On the 18th of this month, my husband and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary. Time moves so quickly, yet it feels as though every moment with him has been a treasure, a memory I hold onto so fiercely.
I often tell him that he wasn’t the man of my dreams—because no dream I could’ve ever had imagined would compare to the reality of the man he is. He brings me so much joy and loves me so deeply. The memories we’ve made together are a testament to the beauty of our love, a love that has brought me a lifetime of happiness in a fraction of the time.
Happy Anniversary Brian!
Re: Find the position of an element in a dropdown list
Hi @kokokoko
I'm glad that you are finding it helpful. To find the last option in the list, we can add a line feed to the end of the text.
=IFERROR(MID([Column one]@row, FIND("*", SUBSTITUTE([Column one]@row + CHAR(10), CHAR(10), "*", 3)) + 1, FIND("*", SUBSTITUTE([Column one]@row + CHAR(10), CHAR(10), "*", 4)) - FIND("*", SUBSTITUTE([Column one]@row + CHAR(10), CHAR(10), "*", 3)) - 1), " ")
These three parts in bold do that. Now the formula is looking in the cell in Column 1 and adding a line feed to that data, then looking for the nth line feed, in this case line feed 3, line feed 4, and line feed 3. It will extract the text between line feed 3 and 4. This will work if 4 is the "fake" one we added by putting the extra CHAR(10) in the formula.
Re: How to highlight co-activity per week
Thanks a lot @ionam ,
I have tried it, but I'm struggling with some error messages : #INCORRECT ARGUMENT SET and #INVALID OPERATION
No results for the moment.
I keep you posted once I've managed to get it solved.

Nothing but the monitors and a laptop which are obviously extremely important to me :(
…. This just reminded me that decorating my desk with something little private might actually be beneficial to me.

Automation Workflow Asssistance - Trigger based off Task's due date
Hello,
Is there a way to sent an automation reminder to be triggered on my project plan for a task when another task's due date is 3 weeks out. For example, I have task A, task B and task C. Task B and Task C need to be completed before Task A can be completed. I am wanting to create an automation to notify the assignee that if Task B and Task C's status are not marked as completed, when Task A's due date is within 3 weeks, to send a reminder to complete task B and C.
Thank you!
