Re: Document Builder - Generating documents removing formatting
Hi,
I have the same issue, did we find a solution?
In smartsheets, my formula with Char(10) is wrapped and displays correctly in the column. However in the PDF, the line return doesn't work and it is separated by a space instead. The PDF fields are not copy/pasted and the name does not contain #. Thank you for your help!
Document Builder - Generating documents removing formatting
Hello,
I'm fairly new to Smartsheet and have been learning as I go.
The issue I am encountering is that when I Generate a document into a fillable PDF, I lose my line breaks and everything gets compressed into one paragraph.
I have multi-line enabled for the PDF fields and have tried both Ctrl + Enter and CHAR(10) in the formula that is compiling the the data. Everything looks great in Smartsheet, but the PDF is missing the line breaks.
I tried my best to research, but I can't seem to figure this out.
Thank you for your help!
Re: Document Builder - Generating documents removing formatting
Andrée, Thank you for getting back to me.
I have multi-line selected on the pdf form and wrap text enabled on all of my columns in the sheet.
When I copy paste from the column to word or into the PDF form the line breaks are visible, but when it is generated as a document from Smartsheet, the line breaks are eliminated.
Thank you,
Ana
Mass Revoke Users
Give a way to Mass Revoke Sharing based on email, (As opposed to one user at a time). This enables admins a clean way to close out projects and sharing when working with multiple users and partners.
A Method to Increase the # of Trusted Domains Beyond the 20,000 row limit
There are MILLIONS of domains. We are attempting to streamline our trusted domain list across all our company applications and our exemption request process so approvers only have to approve domains once for all applications, domains are assess and approve consistently and build automations to add approved domains to the safe share sheet.
Because Smartsheet is a bit backwards and requires that we list every top level domain AND sub domains we deem safe to share and collaborate with instead of listing the handful of domains to block, our initial baseline domain list is ~35,000, exceeding the 20,000 row limit for a sheet. This list will only grow as requests come in for domains to be added.
We need a method to integrate more than 20,000 domains. Whether that is linking multiple sheets, pulling approved domains off multiple columns within a sheet or changing the entire safe share domain process so we only have to list blocked domains.
Re: Workflow - SAME SHEET copy a cell to another column
This would be a HUGE win for many of my projects— in one of our biggest cases we have an approval workflow where someone suggests a change for a title or abstract. If the change is approved, I want to copy the requested change over to the main title cell and if it isn't, I want the original title to remain as-is. I don't want the hassle of copying entire rows full of unrelated data back and forth and I don't want to use formulas or index matches
Re: Question about Templates and Formula References
Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
If it's a Template type of asset, then it's not possible to find and connect them; I recommend using an ordinary sheet instead as a template.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

Re: Creating new Sheets in "Sheets" folder
All new items must be created in a workspace, the Sheets folder will no longer support creation.
I wonder who asked for that? Definetly not users. Seems everyone is finding this change to be jarring, based on the comments on this thread.
It is now way easier to just use excel than smartsheet — if I have to jump through some Workspace creation every time I need a grid to get started.
I suspect Smartsheet management will notice this mistake and bring back to functionality to add to Sheets. Or they will double down on their mistake and remove Sheets entirely and we will all be forced into Workspaces and eventually to other tools. I agree with the other end-user comments; this is a "major step backwards"
Re: Creating new Sheets in "Sheets" folder
I came here to say that I can't stand the new method. I have now wasted 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get my workspace sheet into my sheets folder.
File-save as new only gives me other workspaces as options.
You know the place where all my sheets over the last few years have been created and organized. Now it seems we are being forced out of.
In one sentence or less. How do I move my newly made workspace sheet into my sheets folder? If that is not possible, please make the fix.
