Re: Creating new Sheets in "Sheets" folder
Hi Scott, I am having the same experience. I am a daily smartsheet user and am not aware of when this change was made. I make a lot of new content, recently that happened to be in Workspaces, but was under the impression that I should make a sheet at any time. There doesn't seem to be a non-workspace option at all. You can move sheets from workspace to workspace, or from Sheets into a workspace. But standalone Sheets don't appear to be supported.

Re: Pivot App is not recognizing the Contact Columns
Hi Thomas, Thank you for the response but unfortunately as it is our main tracker and we have more than 10 contact columns and all were need to calculate summaries via pivot table.
We have entering the contacts manually with in the sheets itself and all were valid contacts. (We are not importing from outside).
After multiple testing I see error getting only when,
- Contact column activated multiple Contacts for a cell and
- Pivot Table build from a report (It is working fine when pivot is built directly into sheet)
These pivots we were built 3 years ago, it was working fine until last week and suddenly now Contact column values were not recognizing for Multi Select and Pivot built from a report.
A fix to the issue from the smartsheet would be a great help.

Re: Fill-down formula, while preserving formatting
Yes this can be done! To fill down a formula and formatting, single left click in the cell containing the formula and format, hold shift, and single left click on the last row you want to fill to. Next, press CTRL + D to fill down the formula and formatting.

Workspaces takes up a section of my screen
Hi Smartsheet,
Workspaces takes up a section of my screen and I'm not able to scroll all the way wide right when the Workspace panel is open. Please allow me to continue scrolling to view all my sheets's columns.

Having the same issue. I reached out to support yesterday and told me their engineering team is working on a resolution. Have no idea on an ETA… hopefully soon

Hi @Laura Bell,
when it comes to fully functional backups (including formulas, formatting, workflows etc.) to my knowledge there are only 2 solutions available:
- the mentioned SmartBackup: https://www.smartsheet.com/marketplace/apps/smartbackup-smartsheet which is officially available in the Smartsheet marketplace.
- and SmarterBackup (part of a collection of tools) sold by Smarter Business Processes: https://smarterbusinessprocesses.com/smartercontrols4smartsheet-backups/
2 of my customers in Germany use SmarterBackup (to get fully functional backups) in addition to scheduled backups by Smartsheet.
I can recommend both solutions, but both suffer from some limitations of the Smartsheet API. Namely automations cannot be deactivated (but can be removed) for the backup copy and it's not possible to backup more than 100 items at once.
Again, not the fault of the solution providers but a limitation of the API they both use.

I feel your pain as I am also annoyed with the Workspaces info blocking the left side of the screen.
Maybe you can create new post in the New Product Ideas to put an option to turn it off it or closing if no mouse cursor is on it.
I would vote for it ;)

Re: Rich Text Widget Scroll Bar Change
Wonderful that a fix was put in place for what was clearly a bug.
If any folks from the Smartsheet side of things are reading this thread, what is nature of the disconnect between Support stating that this was design intent when it's actually a bug that requires fixing? It seems as though the response of "this is the current expected behavior of the Widget in the dashboard" puts the responsibility back on the user to submit through these forums, which offer limited visibility on traction and progress, as opposed to offering solutions and coordination internally across teams.
To ask this more directly, is there internal communication from what Support is seeing in their cases and what Product / Engineering can resolve as bug fixes?

Re: Preview all files and attachments: Excel, word, etc
Would love a feature to preview all documents regardless of format (pdf, excel, etc.). This would be very useful and time saver. Current process downloads excel sheets and have to open each document individually to look at one point of information.
Please prioritize working on this!!!
