Combining Cells

I am in the process of combining a few cells in my sheet but would like to add a few things.

How can I add a space between the letter and the date?

How can I add color to the cell? If it starts with an N, add red, if it starts with a P, it should be yellow, etc.

=Irisview@row +" "+ [Irisview Status Check]@row
