Last entry in a group

OK, so I have a report and it has several columns. One is serial number. I have all of the entries grouped by serial number. I now would like to view only the last entry for each serial number. Is there a way of doing this? I do have a column for date.

In Smartsheet, you can filter the report to show only the last entry for each serial number using a combination of sorting and the "Limit to" filter. Here's how:

1. Sort the report by the serial number column and the date column. Make sure to sort the date column in descending order.
2. Click on the "Limit to" filter and select "First X rows."
3. Set the value of X to 1.

This will filter the report to show only the first row (i.e., the most recent entry) for each unique serial number.

Call me crazy, but I do not see "Limit to" in the filter options. Can you help me find this. Thank you.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• You would need to add a so-called helper column in the sheet(s) with a formula that checks which one is the latest and then reference it in the report.
