Why do my cells go blank (in both source & destination) when attempting to link cells?

Hi community. I'm new to Smartsheet and while I'm finding it generally helpful and easy to use, I keep getting stuck on cell linking. Whenever I attempt to link cells from a source to destination sheet, link occurs, but the content of the cells in both sheets blank out. I've tried saving, closing, restarting, but continue to experience the same issue.

I've checked out the online trainings and forums, but haven't found a solution. I welcome any suggestions please, and thanks!

If you haven’t already, I recommend submitting a support ticket through the new Smartsheet Support Portal.
