Finding one specific column out of hundreds can be a real challenge sometimes especially if you are not the one who built the sheet or if columns have been moved around.
Being able to search for column titles using CTRL+F (or really any other way of searching within SS) would be a HUGE time saver.
This is a wonderful suggestion Paul, this would be a huge time saver.

Yes, please! We have so many columns in our smart sheets. This would be very helpful!
Being able to search for a column name would revolutionize my experience using Smartsheet. I waste so much time having to scroll and look for a particular column.

WE need the ability to search for columns. Especially when hidden, the column needed can be near impossible to find. Please add a way to smooth navigation.
This is probably the worst feature of Smartsheet is the inability to CTRL+Find a column name and having to manually scroll through all of the columns to find the one you're looking for. Seems like a really easy add-on. I suppose it could be a "Jump to column" type search button.
Much needed! We love columns, so there's alot to scroll through.
Would be advantageous to be able to:
-Customize/color code actual column headers (not the columns themselves but the headers)
-Search column headers in sheets with many columns (find where a column name is used when this issue occurs)
-Selectively unhide/hide/delete columns by the column search capability
Hi @Paul Newcome,
I agree, having something like a right-click column menu option to 'List Columns', that would return a selectable list of all columns within the sheet with their column descriptions (if they have any) and an indicator of whether they are hidden (or have an attribute to be hidden switched on), would be great.

I have sheets with many columns - it would be great if I could have a "ctrl-F" type feature to search column headings similar to when we use "ctrl-F" for searching rows.
@Jeniese Chaffin If you click on the URL and then use CTRL+F, you will access the browser's "find" feature. This will highlight any instances of the word you type in there. Granted it may not jump to them depending on your browser, but at least it should be highlighted which stands out a little better when scrolling.
Thanks, Paul! This works for now. Mine is not jumping to the column header, but the highlight is helpful!
@Charisse W It doesn't jump for me in Chrome either. :(
I've suggested a few times that an index of column names would be a great solution, for these same purposes. Be able to search & sort in order of the sheet, alphabetically, also be able to hide and unhide single columns from the index, even update formatting from the index (but now maybe I'm getting greedy) :-)
100% need this!
This would be so helpful! Assuming there hasn't been any recent updates allowing this?
