VLOOKUP and links in the linked cell

Hey community,

if I use VLOOKUP , and the linked cell (Cross reference to another sheet) itself contains a link, the result in the cell, where the Vlookup formula is inside, returns aonly the text from the link but not the link itself.

Any idea?

You would need to be pulling the URL. If it is a link that is being displayed as a text string, then only the text string will pull.

Thanks Paul. Any idea, how to split the link in Smartsheet to the text and URL. Currently, it is in one cell.

1st step: I need to split the cell in Text and URL

2nd step: I can link both cells to the target sheet

3rd step: I need to combine this again in one cell with text and link behind.

Hopefully there is a technical way to make this, otherwise, the cross reference integration stops efficient work.

Hi, I',m having a similar challenge. I need to bring a picture which is on a cell over a dashboard

I am running VLOOKUP to bring the picture ;located in the row I needed into a new sheet. The issue is that picture comes as a text to the VLOOKUP sheet, therefore when pulling that info to dashboard, just text will come

If I bring picture directly from the smart sheet cell, no problem, image comes along.

Any ideas?

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Smartsheet API
• 3rd-party solution
• Smartsheet Premium App, Bridge
• Cell-linking

Would any of those options work/help?
