Forms with Workflow

Hello Experts,

I need to perform a requests and processing task within smartsheet. Needs some guidance to acheive this with the following requirement

1. User comes with a new request to process files - Need to build a form
2. The requests should be tracked in a sheet and I should be notified with status as Open - The requests from the form should be saved to a sheet
3. I should change the status from Open to Work in Progress - User should be notified of change in status
4. Once I processed the file, I will change status to Closed - The user should be notified.

Overall

1. From is required - for user to create a requests
2. requests should be stored in a sheet
3. workflow required for the change in status

Requesting to proivde any KBA or sequential steps to achieve this. I can build this further.

Yeah, umm... this is really simple. You need to get familiar with the 'Forms' & 'Automations' on a sheet. Basic IF formulas should work for status changes.

I hope you're well and safe!

You'd use the Form, and you can set the Status as Open as default when submitted. You can then use Workflows to send Alerts when the Status changes.
