Go to the sheet link in Email Notifications
Hello!
I have set up some workflows that send email notifications. In some Update Requests Email Notifications a "Go to the sheet" link appears that gives access to the receiver to the Sheet. This creates a problem as we don't want end-users to have access to the Sheet. If they need to change any data in the Sheet, we send Update Request so they can edit the data outside of Smartsheet.
Is there a way to remove this link from these emails? Or any workaround for users to edit data without having access to the Sheet? I am aware of Dynamic View, but I don't know if this will work, as I read that the workflows can only be built in the Sheet, so this link will still be there.
Thank you!

Hi @moraki
I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, removing the link is impossible now, but it's an excellent idea!
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
- As you've mentioned, Dynamic View. Workflows would trigger from the sheet because Dynamic View is essentially another view of the sheet, and you could modify the Update Requests to Alerts with the link to the Dynamic View instead.
- Another option could be the Premium App, WorkApps.
Would any of those options work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Is it possible to send an Alert but specify the row the user must edit in Dynamic View? I can't find a solution for this problem.

Unfortunately, you can't link to the row, but you could include the row number so they could find it easily.
Would that work/help?

That would not work because the row numbers change if rows are added on top. I was thinking about using a specific field ID to let the user know which one they should edit, but this is also not very convenient if there are many rows.. Any other ideas?

That's what I meant with the Row Number. It should be something unique so it's easy to find.
You could use a Filter only to show relevant rows (overdue, upcoming, but maybe not the ones coming next year or something similar)
Would that work/help?
