Publicizing reports and Locking Attachments

Is there a way to remove access to the attachments when publicizing a report?

I can the hide the said columns, so they do not show up initially when in Grid View. But, if the viewer changes their view to Card View they can still see the attachments. Any way to "lock" the view possibly?

I have messed around with this enough to feel like there is not a solution for the publication method and will most likely have to use the Dashboard + Widget.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Premium App, Dynamic View
• I recently developed a (what I call), Dynamic View Light. It's quite advanced, but in short, it uses cross-sheet formulas and INDEX/MATCH and a specific structure and method so it's only possible to show data that should be available.

Would any of those options work/help?

Thank you for confirming it is not possible. Your suggestions indicate I should upgrade$ our SS account capabilities. This is not a viable option for us at this time. If I misunderstood, please let me know.

Yes, if you want the best solution, you'd need to acquire the Premium App, Dynamic View.

I developed my second option (Dynamic View Light) in Smartsheet without any extra add-ons, so that could be a solution depending on your specific requirements.

Do they need to be able to edit the data that you've shared?

No they cannot edit, however if they had the capability to copy directly off of the sheet (to snag an address rather than typing it out on there in) that would make people happier.

Not essential though. That is the current only challenge we are facing with using the Dashboard + Report Widget.

Ok. Then you could use something similar to my Dynamic View Light solution but much more straightforward.

• You could use cross-sheet formulas to collect the data in another sheet, and then you'd use it for the Report, and the attachments won't be included.

Make sense?
