Form URL Customization - Not working in Edge
Hi,
Has anyone else had this problem? A custom URL string with information to complete a form field at the end works using Chrome but not Edge (even when logged in to Smartsheet). I can't control what browser someone will use. Anyway to fix this?

Aha! Thanks for testing - yes, the option will disappear once you've left feedback.
If you find another article that you want to provide additional feedback on, I would suggest using an Incognito window to find the form again.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Adding that I was very excited to use this, unfortunately it seems very unreliable. A client was provided with the link and submitted two separate items using it. One item came in as expected and the second was missing the field update.

I found at least part of the problem. If the form user is required to be logged in to Smartsheet to use the form and is not already logged in when they click the link, the act of signing in loses the custom portion of the link (doesn't matter if it is Edge or Chrome).
The requirement to be logged in allows capturing who submitted the form. We know we have sent the link to someone who has an account and we want to accurately capture the submitter without requiring them to input that data.
In the case where the client submitted two entries, it would appear that they were not signed in for the first but the second entry worked because they were already signed in.

Hi @Arsineh
Could you possibly get this article updated to include a prominent note that indicates that if the URL user must first sign in to Smartsheet before updating the form, the customization in the URL is lost? It's very disappointing and frustrating to find out the hard way to say the least and it's painful to have to rework the original plan.
Thank you.

Hi @ker9
Please feel free to leave Feedback on that Help Article by filling out the form that appears when you click "No" on the "Was this article Helpful" at the bottom of the page.
You are correct that the act of signing in means that the form refreshes to the original, default URL. There currently isn't a way to make that URL static to include the query parameters you've set. In your instance, I would recommend asking the user to include their email as a manual entry.
Cheers,
Genevieve

The article does not have anything at the bottom allowing feedback. That is why I'm trying to get someone to update it. It's very frustrating to go through this. A simple but obvious note/tip would have prevented that.
What I see at the bottom of article: 'https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2478871-url-query-string-form-default-values?_ga=2.182491430.163379303.1683551293-2020893097.1663250558

Hi @ker9
Thank you for that screen capture! I see something different on the same URL:
We want to be able to receive feedback so I'm certain your view is intended to be the same. Can you confirm what browser you're using to access Help articles? Does it appear on other browsers?
In the meantime, I'll submit the feedback on your behalf. Thank you!
Genevieve

I'm using Chrome and I have seen that option on other articles. For example, I can see it on this link:

Hi @ker9
Very strange; I'm unable to replicate what you're seeing. Can you test in other browsers? Or is it possible that you have certain browser extensions that may be blocking the feedback form?

I think the mystery may be solved. The option to provide feedback disappears if you provide feedback. I just did that through Chrome using Incognito and after submission, the link disappears - ditto with Edge.
ETA: It does leave you frustrated if you find something else to report.
