I am looking for a way to visualize workload like the heatmap shown which has volume and dates.

Workload tracking features are available in Smartsheet for Licensed users with Business and Enterprise plans! Workload tracking can be accessed and enabled by clicking on the resource management icon located in the right rail of a sheet.

Internal Smartsheet Links
I have a sheet that lists all my my projects and one of my columns on that sheet is for hyperlinks to other internal smartsheets. These are sheets associated with each row's specific project. I would like the option to right click on those hyperlinks & "Open in New Tab".
