Can the answers on a form link to a pre-populated row/column?

I have a sheet with pre-populated client names. I have columns with questions that then need to be answered and I have two forms.

I am able to send the forms for completion on the due date, but when they are submitted the details fall to the bottom of my sheet and does not align to the relevant client.

I don't want to use the update automation function as the format and clarity on a form is much better.

Any help is appreciated.

I hope you're well and safe!

If you use a so-called helper sheet with the answers collected in it and have something unique in the form submission, you could connect the submissions with the main sheet using cross-sheet formulas.

You'd use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
