Resource Management: Overcapacity before 100%

How would you show "overcapacity" if the resource capacity assigned to individuals is less than 100%? We have set Project Capacity for each resource to a certain % of their hours, between 0 and 100%. So, if a group of developers, with average capacity of 75% is showing a total demand based on project assignments of 90%, then this scenario should flag the discipline as "oversubscribed" even though the total is less than 100%.

  • Hey @Guy W

There currently isn't a way to set a specific percentage as "at capacity" other than 100%.

You could potentially reduce the work hours, so instead of an 8 hour workday, you could use 6 hour one (or something similar). This means those resources would reach 100% at a different rate than other resources with more hours.

    Cheers,

    Genevieve

Thanks, Genevieve - the workaround advice (decreasing an individual's available hours per day) may be what we use. Anther thought was creating a "non-project" resource demand that is 100% minus "project capacity" for each individual, so that the total demand = "non-project" demand + sum of all projects demand.
