Open Sheet at last entry (e.g. at the bottom of the sheet)

Why does SS need to open at the top; I rarely work there. Can SS open at the last edited row? Or can there be a shortcut to go to the last cell in a column? Currently the only ways to get to the end of a sheet are: scroll or two-part command (ctrl-end to move to the bottom right, then home to move to the first cell). Why not either a shortcut or open where we left off?
