Duplicating projects with cell linking

We set up our each project with individual department sheets that link to other department sheets.  The issue we have is each new project, we replicate the prior project, but have to redo all cell links.  What I'd like to be able to do is set up a template project that can be in total so that all the new sheets link to each other vs. linking to the original sheet.

Does anyone else do this or have insight on how this would work?

There currently isn't a way to configure cell links that link to the copy of the sheet vs the original sheet.

When you have a moment, submit your use case and idea for how you'd want this to look via the Product Enhancement Request form under Quick links on the right of the community site.

One option to explore, if you have development resources available, is the Smartsheet API. You may be able to build something that automatically generates these cell links as needed: https://smartsheet-platform.github.io/api-docs/
