Is there a way to exempt people from a Workflow Automation Process?

Options

I created a Smartsheet for a team calendar. I created a Form attached to the Smartsheet for the team to request new "events" and be able to get them added to the calendar. Then, I created an Automation Process for Approval when "rows are added" and set it up to leave the row upon approval and delete the row upon rejection.

However, any time I add a new row myself, it requires approval, now. Is there a way to make the owners of the Smartsheet to be exempt from the approval automation or to set it up for rows added only through the Form?

    Hi @MJ2424

I hope you're well and safe!

You could add a so-called helper column. It could be a checkbox column; then, you add that as a default value to the form and hide it. Update the workflow so it only triggers when that column is checked.

    Make sense?

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe, and have a fantastic week!
