Publish a Smartsheet Calendar to iCal - Does it work for Free Licensed users?
![D.W.](https://us.v-cdn.net/6031209/uploads/defaultavatar/nWRMFRX6I99I6.jpg)
We really like the fact that Smartsheet can generate an iCal and be used with our Outlook application.
However, it appears that some users (free users), cannot enable this link. I checked all the articles I could, and I couldn't find mention of this limitation with free accounts.
Steps to create the error:
(note: You are logged in as a free non-licensed user).
1) in a Smartsheet, select the calendar view drop down view.
2) Select the <Publish iCal> icon in the the tool bar.
3) If you have a free acount, it gives a pop-up telling you to upgrade
Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi @D.W.
I hope you're well and safe!
You can find it here.
Licensed sheet Owner and Admin can publish the Calendar View to iCal
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

okay - so based on this, you CANNOT publish it if you have a free account - Licensed sheet Owner and Admin can publish the Calendar View to iCal.
Therefore, I believe I should be able to share the calendar (in outlook) with other users so they can access it?
Has anyone done this before with success?

I found what I believe is the answer - it can work for free, if you create it in outlook as an Internet calendar.
- Right click on my calendars > Add calendar > From Internet.
- Paste the ical internet link from Smartsheet into the window.
- When the calendar is added, it should say, "Add and Subscribe" for updates
The key word is subscribe.

I tried this again, and it appears to only work for those who have a FULL AND ACTIVE Smartsheet account/license.
