Can you update form responses once it is submitted?

I am trying to see if my teammates are able to update their responses in forms once it is submitted? The reason being, they will get a request from the TL to report on quarterly updates. Once filled out, they will also validate that info with sponsor and update accordingly. We are simply utilizing Smartsheet to view the history of QBR's.

@alamn Some options that come to mind:
- If you have access to Dynamic View, this may work for your needs as you can create a form view in the details pane and enforce required fields and such.
- Use an update request
- Use an external tool like Appsheet. If your organization uses Google Workspace, you should now have this available to you at no extra cost. See my post here for more information.

I added an automation to return a link to person for updates in case they start to fill it out and don't have all the information. I have a column in the sheet for "Hold/Submit" and use the Hold to trigger the automation to send them back a "Requests an Update". You can set it with options for different submissions, Draft1, Draft2..... and a final submit choice.

I want to return a link to a completed (submitted) form, should the user need to add addt'l details later. How can I do this?

Hi @willim101
I hope you're well and safe!
The easiest way would be to send an automated Update Request after the initial form submission.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

I am looking to do something similar to what William had asked, except I want the submitter to be able to use the link originally sent to them to pull back their specific submitted information and edit as needed. How could I achieve that?

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
The best option would be the Premium App, Dynamic View.Do you have access to that, or are you open to adding it to your account?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

We do this with an automation to send an update request when the original form is submitted. The update request includes a link to another form with details previously entered pre-completed. The user can then edit the details and submit the form. Update request forms do not have all the functional or display options that standard forms have but the process works.
