Forward automation notifications when on vacation

Is there a way to have all automation generated notifications for user 1 be temporarily transferred to user 2 when user 1 is on vacation? We can do it by changing each automation workflow but this is not a good solution.

Hi @Neil Egsgard ,

Are you tracking the vacation within the sheet? If you have checkbox that reflects User 1 is on vacation, you can use that within the automation to control who to send the notification to.

Something like this.

Just an initial thought.

I am looking for a global solution so all notifications from any sheet to the person on vacation would go to a designated alternate. The automation workflow would work for one sheet but would not be sustainable across all sheets.

I recently developed something similar to this for a client. I used a master list of Roles and assigned people, including those in charge when the primary person was away.

For it to work, all sheets involved would have to reference this sheet.

Make sense?
