Unlicensed user - admin
Hi all,
According to this link: Sharing permissions on sheets, reports, or workspaces | Smartsheet Learning Center it seems like an unlicensed user can never edit cells in locked rows or cannot remove locked rows.
However, when we try this (unlicensed user with admin permission), we are able to edit/remove locked rows.
Does anyone encountered this as well?

Hi @Jef Snyders
I hope you're well and safe!
That's strange!
Can you share some screenshots of the sharing window and the sheet? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!
Best,

Hey @Jef Snyders
I agree with @Andrée Starå that it would be helpful to know more information: what is locked (the row or columns), and what are they editing (the cell, or deleting the row entirely which is a different action).
Thanks!
Genevieve

Hi @Andrée Starå , @Genevieve P. , I was half wrong.
Editing cells in locked rows is not feasible for unlicensed users (even if admin permission).
However, removing/deleting locked rows is feasible for licensed users with admin permissions. I have double-checked this with an unlicensed user in practice.
The full row is locked and the full row can be deleted.

Hi @Jef Snyders
Thank you for clarifying! This is currently expected.
See the note under the "Important" header in this Help Article: Lock or Unlock Columns and Rows
"Locking a column doesn't prevent a person with editor (or admin) sharing permissions from deleting or moving rows. It prevents them from editing or deleting any data in that column."
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Genevieve P. , thanks for your comment.
It starts with 'locking a column' (not 'locking a row'). I think it is strange that Unlicensed admin users can remove locked rows, but cannot edit them.
