Can I add an existing licensed user to my account?

Is it possible to add an existing licensed user who is part of a different existing account to your account and make them a resource viewer?

  • Hi ph—

They'd have to leave their current plan to become a part of yours.

If they're on an individual plan, you can invite them under User Management and if they accept the invite, they'll merge into your account. This means that their account will become owned and managed by you. Details on this are in the User Management article.

So I am part of an enterprise account but work with another enterprise who have their own account.

I need to be able to view and manage resources in both accounts - is that possible at all?

    Thanks

    ph,

The way I get around this is using Gmail and the name+extension@gmail.com for email.

To Google all of these are the same:

    myname@gmail.com

    myname+account1@gmail.com

    myname+account2@gmail.com

That means emails sent to them show up in the same in-box.

    To Smartsheet, they are different.

That means I can have three licensed users in three different accounts. You will initially get welcome e-mails from Smartsheet, but you can turn those off. I have found no other pain from this method.

I have licensed users in many customer accounts for purposes of SysAdmin support if necessary.

I have a similar issue. We currently have two Smartsheet accounts, one for Country A and one for Country B. I want now to have all users under one single account, but I want to be sure that they don't loose any information during the migration.

The process that I have identified is to

Download User List (csv) from account Country A

Import User List (csv) to account Country B

Does anyone know if this process has any negative consequence on the user I migrate?
