Current User View - software test use case
Hello,
We're trying to use current user view in a report so people can fill out only their information but we don't want them to have write privilege in the underlying sheet. Is that possible? I'm wondering if there's another workaround like an automation, possibly a locking automation. We're trying to have testers submit a bug and then retest with new information for that row. If the row is locked, the admin will have to unlock it so they can submit the fix.
Does anyone use Smartsheet for software testing and if so how?
Thanks.

Hi @janetmcclain,
No, that is not possible. In order for a user to fill out information in a Report, they must have Editor access to the underlying grid. There's no way around that. You could try using Dynamic View.

OK. Thanks. Is there a way to have the Assigned To user be the only one who can change that row in the sheet (rather than a report), leaving it locked for other editors?

No. Permissions are at the sheet and/or workspace level, but never at the row level.

Thanks Ray!
