How can I get my change notification automation to NOT notify me if I made the change?

I have automation in place to notify me of changes in a document but I'm getting those notifications if I'm the one making the change which is useless since I clearly know the change was made since I made it.

Is there a way for it to exclude notifications if the person to be notified is the one that made the change?

These are personal notification settings that you can adjust from your profile / account in Smartsheet 🙂

@KimTDSYN You can create a column, Modified By, and you can then you can create an automation with the trigger, when Modified By changes to anything other than your name by the trigger or filter.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I thought about the new column but then I need the team to update yet another column of data. There should be a checkbox, in the automation steps, that if the change is made by person to be notified that you can check to have it not sent.

Do you know how to turn off in-app notifications if an email is sent too? That's another annoyance. I get an email and I get flags in the app and I don't need both.
