Can you create a workflow to copy a row to between sheets in different Workspaces?
I'm creating a workflow that copies a row from one sheet to another, wherein the sheets are in different workspaces. I saw that you must be an admin or owner on both sheets to do this and I am listed as an admin on both sheets. However, the sheet name I'm copying TO does not appear in the search results. But, sheet names within the workspace DO appear.
So, I assume the sheets MUST exist in the same workspace, but I can't find anything that says this is a requirement. I would appreciate anyone confirming this or providing a workaround or necessary requirements to apply the copy-to-another-sheet workflow.

Hi @Tony Fronza
I tested and found that creating copy-to-another-sheet in another workspace is possible.
The workflow does not show the sheet in another workspace as candidates at the first time.
The workaround that worked for me is to copy rows manually first. You can use the normal sheet and workspace directory in the manual "Copy to Another Sheet" dialog panel. Then, when you go back to the workflow, you can search the sheet, and it will pop up as candidates.😀

@jmyzk_cloudsmart_jp thank you so much! I will go through the steps on my end today to confirm.

I do this very regularly (copy / move rows via automation from one workspace to another) without having to go through the extra steps of manually copying / moving rows first.
Not only do you need to be owner / admin of the recipient sheet, but the owner of the originating sheet must also be at least Admin or higher on the recipient sheet.

Thanks @Paul Newcome! I am an admin of both sheets - do I need to be the owner of one of them?

The owner of both sheets needs to also be at least admin on both as well.

@Paul Newcome OK, we check all boxes (i.e., the owner of the destination sheet is an admin on the other sheet, and I am listed as an admin on both sheets). I will try the workaround above and test it with another file also (to make sure it's not a bug/glitch with the sheets in question).

@@jmyzk_cloudsmart_jp I attempted your workaround, but the destination sheet still won't populate. I will contact support to see what's happening.

Yep. This happens sometimes. Annoying, isn't it?

Hi,
Following up on this question
How can I create an automation to copy rows for sheets in separate workspaces, when the person creating the automation is the admin or owner of both?
Thanks

While the workflow interface might not initially show sheets from other workspaces, there's a workaround.
Here's how to achieve this automation:
- Manually Copy a Row Once: Use the standard "Copy to Another Sheet" function. During this manual copy, navigate to the directory and select the desired sheet from the other workspace. This "primes" the automation system.
- Create Your Workflow: Now, when you return to the workflow creation, the destination sheet from the other workspace should appear as a selectable option.
