Is there an formula edit window?

Is there a formula window available so I can edit/create long formulas better?  The one the pops up when you start typing in a formula overlays other cells and makes it difficult to select columns int he same row.  I'd like to have a separate popup that I can move around on the scree or make bigger so I can see and work on a complex, or long, formula easier.

I use Notepad, copy and paste in between. You can even space out formulas by putting them on new lines with enter key and it will autofix when pasting back into smartsheet.

I agree with Luke_TK -- I do all my lengthy or nested formulas in notepad++, which also provides highlighting of the parenthesis which helps me to make sure I have closed them all correctly.

Yeah, what Luke_TK and Mike said.

I use UltraEdit.

I also build complicated formulas using multiple columns first and then combine them once each part is tested.

I would be incredibly helpful when auditing formulas if the formula edit window did not cover the cells being referenced in a particular row.  Even more frustrating, when you scroll up and down, the formula edit window moves with the referenced row.

Notepad works well when creating formulas, but not for editing.
