Document builder Question

I'm a project manager for a commercial HVAC/ Plumbing company. We use document builder to create our "Job Start". When I create and download this job start the document becomes read only or "locks". It won't allow me to edit or correct any errors.. Any idea how I can fix it or change the output?

Also there are couple fields that have to be filled in after the document is created and needs to be updated, and I can't just save it I have to save over it or create a new doc.

    I cannot replicate this. I have used the feature on multiple systems and have not encountered this.

    Has it ever worked? I would look to see if:

    1. You have write permission to the folder where the PDF lands. Maybe move it to a folder that you confirmed you have write access to.
    2. The file is opening in another app and this is locking it.
