How can I trigger my jira connector manually or via REST API?

Hi,

we're using a jira connector to connect our smartsheet planning to jira issues.

However, whenever something is changed in smartsheet and the sheet is stored, the jira issues are updated resulting in a big wave of notification mails.

We'd rather like to trigger the sync manually. This way we could do our planning and when the planning is fine we could do the sync to jira. Is there a way to set up the connector do so in smartsheet? Ideally we have a sync button for this instead having the sync triggered after every save of the sheet

Second best solution would be to be able to deactivate the connector during mayor planning activities and reactivate it afterwards. Also this way we could guard the syncronization according to our needs.

Or is there an even better solution to our problem which we didn't think so far?
