Can people with "editor" access still mark tasks as complete? or do they have to be users to do that

I am trying to decide if smartsheets is the platform I want to use for project management of my team. I am a little confused about what a viewer can do versus what a user can do. Can people with the free "viewer" access still mark tasks as "in progress" or "complete?" Or is this only available for paid users on the plan?

No, they have to be editors to be able to change anything, but they can be editors without a license.
