Copy & paste tasks and dependencies

Hey everyone,

i have created a template task list including their dependencies and I would like to copy and paste them in my sheet, so I don't have to figure out the dependencies for every bucket on its own. However, It appears I cannot copy and paste the dependencies :-( - is there any way of doing this in a better way or is it simply not possible?

Hi @NeuerNutzer, you can't copy and paste the parent/child relationship. However, the Copy Automation preserves the parent child relationship. In fact, copying a parent will automatically copy the child. So you can send over a new template whenever you want, with the preserved parent/child relationships. this doesn't really help as I am also using some formulas in some columns. I made myself a work-around column that calculates the new dependencies i then copy and paste into the parent/child column. This is working for now and I am hoping smartSheet will come up with a better Template option :-).

Does your work around work to only copy the parent task to a new sheet and not the child tasks?

If so, can you share how you this?
